Brief Summary
Melbourne illustrator HYPERLINK "http://www.sarahhankinson.com/" \t "_blank" Sarah Hankinson creates distinctly feminine yet bold and dramatic works which play off broken lines and occasional splashes of colour. Sarahs illustration style is confident, youthful, and strongly fashion orientated, many of her pieces focusing on the female form. She graduated from studying Illustration in 2004 at Chisholm Institute of TAFE and has gone on to have her work appear in many publications including Chik, STU, Cleo, Curve, and Urbis magazines. Some of her corporate clients include St Lenny Clothing, Kookai, Implulse Body Spray, Kiehls Lip Gloss and Bonds Underwear. As well as this she has exhibited at Chapel of Chapel and Design A Space galleries in Prahran.
Sarah takes on each new illustration as a challenge to expand her style and experiment with different mediums and techniques. Fabrics and cut paper, as well as a variety of other mediums such as inks, charcoal and pencils feature in her works and she also uses Photoshop as a tool to layer and finalise her illustrations. Her illustrations have a strong fashion sense, which has come from growing up surrounded by fabrics and clothing with her mum being a dressmaker. She aims to create work that is elegant, beautiful and striking.
