Brief Summary
Educated at West of England School of Art and Gemini School, Rob became a commercial artist after graduating with distinction in 1991 and has taken work from the fields of advertising, publishing, licensing & corporate design. In 1999 Rob won a sport special of “Watercolour Challenge”, the TV painting competition on Channel 4. In 2008 he completed work on four paintings of “Sporting Dogs” commissioned by Saatchi & Saatchi for their entry into the 2008 advertising awards at the Sundance Festival at Cannes. Later that year this work won a Gold Medal at the European Advertising Awards (EPICA). Other clients include John Lewis, The Cricketer International Magazine, TWR Racing and Andre Deutsch.
As well as numerous private portrait commissions, his portfolio holds portraits of sporting personalities and people of influence, including the footballer, David Beckham, English actor, George Cole OBE and Ferrari F1 principal, Jean Todt. Rob has had three entries in the BP Award at the National Portrait Gallery in London; his1996 entry receiving a commendation.
