Brief Summary
“As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment
with different techniques and mediums. Originally from California,
I studied fine art at San Diego State University and was affected
by my father who was an industrial designer and inventor. We sailed a lot
from Mexico to Santa Cruz and most of the islands off the coast of Southern California on our family sailboat. This influenced me to paint images relating to the sea. I am especially drawn to portraiture of women, possibly from growing up with five sisters. The lore of Mermaids became evident as a child and has been a theme that I have been exploring as a maturing artist.

As a professional photographer who specializes in weddings and portraits, I sometimes create art from the portraits that I take which adds another dimension to the proofs I offer to my clients. I also paint in acrylics/ oils. Sometimes I combine my photographs with actual painted canvas work, adding a fantasy element to the photograph. Mermaids and fairytale characters are done in this mixed media art. Through my travels and photographic excursions, I create art from my images by hand tinting and using digital painting techniques.
