Jonathan Roy has been applying himself to varied disciplines for quite some time.
He’s lived in New York since 1990 and finds the lasting sedentariness meaningful, especially when he considers the crazy hopscotch upbringing he had: Puerto Rico; Washington State; Atlanta, Georgia; Kinshasa, Zaire.
New York brought a BA in Architecture from Columbia University and then a lot of diverse design work: corporate identities and marketing materials; PR and web work; and pretty much every project conceivable for restaurants, hotels, bars, and clubs. (Plus a fair number of architecture projects sprinkled throughout.)
He’s got happy clients — a result of skill, insightfulness, and an ability to deliver great product ahead of schedule and on or under budget.
Then there’s the drawing and painting. They were a passion before the design bug bit, and they remain the driving force. Clients reap the results in the form of unique and committed work informed by a focus on the plastic arts.
