TO DO WHAT I LOVE AND TO LOVE WHAT I DO

After all these years in business, I would like to repeat the words of Howard Hodgkins: “Begin afresh, afresh, afresh”. And I am not afraid to do so. To fail, to make new mistakes and find purpose; to finish what I started.

I love making films. Though I must confess; I am a writer first, then, a director.

I make the story engaging by working on the form. I am comfortable writing, directing and producing; live action & animation (2D & 3D). I choose the craft so, there is concept unity. Filmmaking is an enterprise where my passion for music, art & design is kindled.

I love to work on brands. I have successfully deployed my skills and resources of storytelling, to tell really short and highly demanding product stories.

I work with people who dare to disagree. But stand united on a big idea.

I am a mentor to budding screenplay writers and aspiring filmmakers. I write full length feature screenplays and regularly pitch for funds.

I have hands-on experience in writing for traditional media- print, radio and TV. I am into digital & new media as well. My recent works including shorts, music videos, video art & creative photography have been widely exhibited in the world wide web.

I have worked in theatre as well. I directed a short play called ‘The Kill’ at Short & Sweet, 2011, Chennai Edition. And was the Sound Engineer for 4 other short plays at Alliance Françoise for Theatre Group: ThespianEn.

Also, wrote movie-of-the-day reviews which were published on Deccan Herald, Bengaluru Edition, during the 4th Bengaluru International Film Festival, 15-22 December 2011.

Crazygum/June 2009 - Present
Crazygum is a creative collective I founded. My partner-Sumi Anup who looks after the Production, is an erstwhile Lighting & Compositing Artist with DQ and a pottery student for life. We are backed by a talent pool of writers, actors, cinematographers, editors, sound designers, art directors, animators, graphic artists & interactive designers, working in 2D & 3D.

Mindsreen Film Institute
Mindscreen Film Institute is founded and run by famous Cinematographer & Director-Rajiv Menon. I teach film direction, production design, and various aspects of screenwriting from a Director’s POV. The classes include theories and live projects.
