Victor M. Martínez

Graphic designer, illustrator, type-aficionado and professor, born in Mexico City.

Has developed various projects in different fields of graphic communication, such as identity programs, poster design, editorial design and illustration for clients in governmental and private sectors and non-governmental organizations. Under the name of Mandarina dsgn, develops commercial and experimental projects since 2001.

In 2002 began teaching at the Universidad Intercontinental (a private school) and the Escuela de Diseño de Bellas Artes (EDINBA) (The School of Design of the National Institute of Fine Arts). Nowadays, he is professor at the Universidad Anáhuac México-Norte, the Universidad Anáhuac México-Sur, the EDINBA and Centro (school of design, film making and television). Besides, has given courses and lectures in other cultural and educational institutions in Mexico, Spain and Latinamerica.

His work, has been published in specialized design magazines such as a! Diseño, Ene O (nervio óptico), Tiypo, TPG (also known as Tipográfica -published in Argentina-), Guía del ocio (published in Spain), Universidad y diversidad and El Huacal (both, university publications) and in the book 20 años son nada. Reflexiones de la Escuela de Diseño Gráfico de la Universidad Intercontinental (Reflections from the 20th anniversary of the School of Graphic Design of the Universidad Intercontinental).

Some pieces of his work became finalists at the a! Diseño, and Quórum prizes (the most important prizes of design in Mexico). His font La Mancha was selected in the past Bienal Latinoamericana de Tipografía Tipos Latinos (Latinoamerican type bienal).

Part of his work, has been shown in several cities of Mexico, Spain and South America.
