Klaus Rosburg is the founder and principal of SONIC Design, a New York based design studio specializing in the development of consumer products, medical instruments and structural packaging.
Educated in Germany, Klaus studied Industrial Design at the Muthesius Academy for the Art in Kiel graduating with highest distinction. While he was at top design firms in Germany and the United States, Klaus Rosburg gained extensive experiences in all aspects of the design process, including market research, trend forecasting, CAD development, rapid prototyping and computer- generated images.
Nominated for the National Design Award in 2007 he has received the most prestigious design awards worldwide, most notably the Industrial Design Excellence Award, ID and CES Innovation Award. His spectrum of commercial work ranges from high-tech super computer and jet interior to toothbrushes and pill dispenser. Klaus Rosburg’s work has been published in The New York Times, I.D. Magazine, Axis, MD, Form, Interior Design, and Metropolis, to name few.
Klaus Rosburg is also co-founder and director of Firstop, a non-profit organization featuring and promoting the work of established and emerging designers and on the panel of judges for the International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award since 2005.
