Sean Gilligan is an award-winning New York based advertising and editorial photographer, who is best known for his portraiture, landscapes and travel photography.
His commercial and editorial client list includes The New York Times Magazine, Peugeot, The Wall Street Journal, The NBA, The Guardian, CNN, Forbes Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Nike, Adidas, Starbucks, Camelbak, Mountain Hardware, Burton Snowboards, and The Boys and Girls Clubs Of America. He has shot extensively on specific projects and assignments in Namibia, Africa; Morocco, North Africa; Geneva, Switzerland; Budapest, Hungary; Paris, France; North, Central and Southern Mexico; and the West Coast of Ireland.
Sean is currently working on two books. The first is a book featuring photographs of the exceptional people of Harlem; its musicians, artists, filmmakers, business owners, politicians and long-time residents. The other book, titled The Occupation is Us, consists of intimate portraits showing the true diversity of the protestors in the recent movement to Occupy Wall Street.
