Professional Experience
Niki Ling was born and raised in Canton, China. Before becoming a freelance illustrator, she had worked as a graphic designer after the commercial art design university courses and she got a bachelor degree after graduation. However, it was amazing for her to realize that she actually extremely enjoys and loves creating illustrations and this is the part she is full of passion. Meanwhile, graphic design helps her to work on some parts of creating illustrations. Almost at the same time she is working tirelss in a series of illustrations just like what she does right now.Niki draws insipration from everything, but especially fairy tales, animation, literature and art, fantastic and dark matters,movies, music, issues of the whole world, life attitudes, world cultures. Besides, Niki has long been fascinated by stories and characters, she also really likes to create characters and it is always exciting to infuse personalities into them and make them unique.Niki's painting style includes colorful, adorable, positive and full of information. She specializes in tradition paintings and character designs. Moreover,she loves discovering new things and she can always get a surprise from all of them.In the year of 2009, Niki has been a Dreamworks Animation Fine art artist and her artworks were showcased in the Illustrative 2009 of Berlin and the ad-tech 2009 of Beijing; Furthermore, Niki had some digital illustration works in 2008, You could find her past digital artworks from a Taiwan magazine which calls "Illustration Design Fair306". In the year of 2010, Niki's newest artworks were just showcased in a huge event which called YODEX(Taipei), Ad:Tech(Singapore) and ADC/One Show Ceremony(New York) and OFFF(Paris) and the latest one was in Seoul; Furthermore, she has been invited to some design and illustration communities because of her artworks. She feels its always a pleasure to be one of those communities and thanks them so very much!
In the future, Niki aims at animation Fine Art and various illustrations; However, she would very love to write and illustrate her own children's book someday...
