Professional Experience
William “Billy” Neumann attended New York University and Fairleigh Dickinson University but credits all of his photographic education to his 7+ years of professionally assisting over 175 of New York’s finest commercial photographers. He was an original organizer for NYC Assistant Photographers which led him to be recruited as an Adjunct Professor by School of Visual Arts in New York. He has taught thousands of emerging photographers “How to Assist Professional Photographers” for over 25 years. He is a partner in TAZStudios Inc. and has survived the establishment of three studio start-ups. Besides his photographic career, he is a popular New Jersey Historic Preservationist with a Certification in Historic Preservation from Drew University. Billy is the most recognized historian in his hometown of the Borough of Rutherford, New Jersey and the author of two local history books on the extraordinary history of Rutherford and an author or contributor to many other books and articles and the administer for a dozen Face Book pages and forums on numerous subjects. His Pro-Bono clients include Habitat for Humanity, Public Libraries, Public Radio, Historic Preservation and History organizations. He lives eight miles away from NYC on the remnants of a 135 year old farm with a full garden and sleeps over half the year on his outdoor porch under swaying Hemlocks.
