Errol Flynn as Robin Hood
Errol Flynn was an Australian-born, American actor during the Golden Age of Hollywood � 1920s to 1940s. He achieved fame for his roles in romantic swashbuckler Hollywood films and was the natural successor to Douglas Fairbanks. One of his best-known roles was Robin in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938). His portrayal of the character was named by the American Film Institute as the 18th-greatest hero in American film history. Flynn had a turbulent and controversial private life � he was married three times, he faced charges of statutory rape and allegations during World War II of being a Nazi spy. He died on October 14, 1959, at the age of 50 from a heart attack.
