Matt Hebermehl is an artist living in Spanish moss draped, whiskey soaked, Savannah, Georgia. He grew up in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains in Arvada, Colorado. Matt studied illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design where he graduated with honors in 2003. His signature archetypical icon and pattern based work draws inspiration from Native Americans and the American west of his youth, the slow flow and soul of the American South, hip-hop, honky-tonk, doo-wop, and his German-Irish-Swede family heritage. Hebermehl has received honors and recognition from American Illustration, Society of Illustrators (N.Y.), Society of Illustrators (L.A.), Applied Arts, Juxtapoz and Fecal Face dot com. His work has also been exhibited in such cities as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Jacksonville, FL and of course sweet ol’ Savannah.
