Ken Dubrowski began his career 20 years ago as a freelance, professional illustrator creating spot illustrations for trade publications. He quickly built a strong client list and shortly thereafter, his work was appearing in such publications as, The Washington Post, The New York Law Journal, The Boston Globe, Hippocrates Magazine, Cahner's Publishing, Inc. Magazine and for corporations like Sprint, Scudder's Investment, Merrill Lynch and Mobil. His success is due to his ability to collaborate with clients to find creative solutions to their illustration needs. As a successful multi-media illustrator, he uses both traditional tools (pastel, watercolor) and digital media to create unique work for clients.
The Ken Dubrowski Artisan Studio is more than just about his illustration work. Ken also designs, builds and promotes a unique collection of hand made furniture. Showcasing the collection of furniture, illustrations, house portraits, murals and limited edition prints at trade shows, crafts fairs and community events throughout Massachusetts. Ken’s renaissance approach to his work has been featured in several media outlets over the past few years: WCVB’s Chronicle, South Shore Living Magazine, as well as the Patriot Ledger and Marshfield Mariner.
In addition to his work in the studio, Ken is also an advocate of the arts and of artist’s rights. As Director of Operations of the Illustrators Partnership of America, a non profit trade association based in Marshfield MA, Ken works to help artists assert the value or their work, educate artists on how to protect and manage their intellectual property and engage research to authenticate secondary licensing of artists works. Ken has written and published articles about the adverse effects stock houses have had on the illustration industry and is the founder and editor of The Illustrators' News, a quarterly publication addressing issues critical to the illustration industry.
As an adjunct Professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Ken created agenda and all lesson plans for three distinct classes for students at various levels of skill and talent.
