Jem Robinson is a UK based Illustrator who creates bold, colourful and graphic illustrations for design, advertising and publishing clients. Jem was educated at Loughborough University School of Art and Design where she gained a first class degree in Illustration in 2005. She currently teaches there on a part time basis on both the Illustration and Graphic Design Degree courses alongside her freelance practice.
Her Illustration work is heavily designed and is often influenced by graphic design and typography, therefore it is no surprise that Jem is often asked to undertake design commissions as well as creating images.
In the future Jem hopes to develop her animation skills, as this is an area of interest that she would like to explore further. She has produced a several animated shorts and is gaining experience from each one she completes.
Jem is not bound by the limits of the term Illustration and its historical connotations, she views herself as someone who solves problems visually and she is happy to do this in whatever medium provides the best answer.
