Brief Summary
Hello! I’m an ambitious freelance photographer and creative individual from Liverpool currently residing in Lincoln where I have studied Contemporary Lens Media, achieved my degree and contribute to The Focus Project.

My engrossment in photography stemmed from my studies and interest in Art and Design, in which I was influenced from movements such as impressionism, cubism and surrealism. My initial influences in photography included the likes of the bauhaus, russian constructivism and has expanded throughout my my studies into the areas of the tableau image, art direction, documentary, lifestyle photography, street and still life photography.

My current work if focused on the Tableau, exploring the dynamics of relationships in narrative, staged still images, recently taking inspiration from Edward Hopper, Helen Van Meene, Sarah Small, Paula Rego and Hannah Starkey.

I have always had a keen interest in all aspects of the creative industry and now intend to continue my route further into the realm of fine art photography.

I am available as a wedding and portrait photographer, open to collaboration projects and discussions, keen to expand my portfolio, explore all aspects of photography and on the look out for gallery space.

Employment History

Freelance work

Portrait Photographer 2009-Ongoing
I have worked professionally with multiple formats including digital, medium format and 35mm film as 1st photographer at multiple weddings and studio based photoshoots creating personalised family portraits.

Fashion Photographer -2009 - Ongoing
I have also been responsible for directing, supervising, styling and producing "staged" Tableau pieces and fine art images for fashion shoots. Working with brands such as Optic Apparel, I created a small campaign for the independent clothing label, doing some creative and provocative shoots to help them grab some attention and publicise their brand.

Food/magazine photographer 2013 - current
Recently I have been working with the Co-operative in Lincolnshire producing food photography for their monthly recipe; a role which requires an in-depth understanding of audience reception to an image and project management to produce high quality work for print on time.

All of these roles required great time management, a good understanding of image in the analytical and technical sense, and over all achieved a creative and determined approach working with clients to create what would be best for them and their company.

Voluntary

Frequency Festival Volunteer and Photographer- 2012
At this local Digital Arts festival I was a lead photographer responsible for documenting the festival events and exhibitions of national artists. As all exhibits were held in local public places I also helped visitors find what they were looking to see, promoted the artists work and gave information on other exhibitions as well as distributing promorional literature and asking visitors to fill out a survery regarding their experience of the festival and their interest in the arts as part of the market research. As part of the media team I helped to create short interviews with the public and with other volunteers to talk about the festival, it's exhibitions and their interests in the arts.

The Focus Project September 2008 – ongoing
Whilst at university I formed a small collective with some colleagues and became resident Photographer as well as a writer for the collective. As an online blogging site it was focused on art and design- something I remain passionate about. My responsibilities consisted of writing 2-3 articles per week in which I reviewed and analysed local artists' work, exhibitions, works of known practitioners which required me to keep up to date on current events, researching suitable stories and subjects in the creative fields. I helped the director edit and schedule each article for our website, contacted the writers when needed, recruited new writers and helped to ensure all deadlines were met and often took photographs for their articles/ reviews to illustrate variant subjects. Ultimately I helped with the production of all projects that were put forward from the team and help them come to fruition. Though this role is ongoing the website is currently under construction.

Community Business Bridge: July 11- August 11
I completed a work placement position whilst between work in a fairly new company called the Community Business Bridge in Liverpool. Here I had been given a couple of special projects which included:
- Creating case-study promotional videos for clients for the new CBB website.
- Researching and writing the literature for the company; brochures to advertise our clients products/ services.
A company with a very charitable message it gave me a great opportunity to work with a specific message for the a brand in mind as well as building my project management skills and production planning capabilities.

Photography Leader: 2011
A short placement but and important role as for an online magazine called Reasons to be Beautiful. In this time at their online publication I
- Supervised a small team of photographers and gave them briefs which were derived from the writer's articles for which they needed images for.
- Helping to organise and write up photo shoots for the briefs and projects and providing concept ideas, working towards a deadline.
In this time I learnt how to support a team of people and developed my and leadership skills.
