Kenneth Bess has been a graphic designer for over twenty years. He studied architecture at the University of California at Berkeley and began his career with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in
San Francisco, where here became head of the Graphics Group.

Moving to New York, he worked with Chermayeff & Geismar Associates, Siegel & Gale as Director of Environmental Design, and Gensler as Director of Graphic Design. Mr Bess was a partner in LCP Bess Graphic Design, a firm established with the partners of LCP Associates, interior designers. He later worked as a consultant to Landor Associates and at Hambrecht Terrell International as Director of Graphics for Specialty Retailing.

Mr Bess spent several years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was a founding principal of Design Directions, a multidisciplinary firm. He returned to the Bay Area to form Bohannon and Bess Design and later Bess Design.
