Altered Book Series
Brief Summary
I like to make art about things that interest me: music, culture, ancestry, and the value of retrospection. In my more recent pieces, I've created surrealistic spaces using found images--mostly rare old family photographs and documents.

My art-making process is highly intuitive. Sometimes one figure in a photograph could inspire an entire narrative series. And I may not know how the narrative ends until it ends. I can also honestly say that I learn new things about my art  and my art-making process every time I talk or write about it. My images possess numerous details that often feel serendipitously in nature--for example, one of my favorite pieces "Elated, Elated Creating," was created when I forgot all my materials in my last semester's sketchbook studio class. After experiencing the benefits of nonresistance, I've accepted chance as my collaborator.

Thank you for checking out my art, I hope your experience of it is just as great as my experience of making it!
