Sonia draws on inspiration from the past to create timeless, distinctive images. Her bold designs aim to grab a viewers attention whilst her emphasis on detail brings the viewer in.
A background in editorial work brings many years of experience in distilling complex ideas to visually simple solutions. She also enjoys adding a dash of theatricality to her images.
Most of her work starts off as an acrylic painting which is then finished digitally, to bring about a richness in colour and detail whilst retaining a human touch.
Working professionally since 1991, she has also worked on self publishing projects,. Animation, as well as teaching illustration at Tertiary level. She is also a past President of Illustratos Australia, (IA) and continues her volunteer work for the IA committee.
