The largest Supertanker ever to enter the Port of Vancouver arrived and docked at Terasen Pipelines loading terminal located in the Burrard inlet in Vancouver, BC and Flightpath Aerial Photography was on-hand to photograph this rare occurance.
This documentation allowed http://www.flightpathaerial.comTerasen to show customers around the world that they can handle this class of SuperTanker in the Port of Vancouver. Flightpath had crews on the ground, on the ship and in the air to capture the pivotal moment: The Singaporean flagged 'Barents Sea' smoothly being escorted under the Second Narrows bridge on a stretch of the Trans Canada Highway. Timing was critical with a ship this large, due to the fact that there was only 10 feet of clearance between the top of the ship and the bottom of the bridge superstructure. There was only a short window of 20 minutes where the tide was at a point where the ship could actually pass under the bridge without being too tall. Precise timing on all fronts was necessary to ensure a successful operation.
