Brief Summary
Screen resolution is the number of horizontal and vertical pixels on a screen. The more pixels, the more information is visible without scrolling. Screen resolutions have a pixel count such as 1600x1200, which means 1,600 horizontal and 1,200 vertical pixels.

Screen resolutions also have basic names, such as HDTV and Ultra UHD for televisions and XGA and WQXGA for computer monitors. However, the names are confusing. For example, the "Q" in QVGA represents one-fourth the pixels of VGA, while the "Q" in QXGA means four (quad) times the resolution of XGA.
DCI 4K has twice the screen resolution of 2048 x 1080 pixels on projectors (4096 x 2160 / about 17: 9) and is the industry's 4K resolution. UHD 4K (also called UHDTV 4K), on the other hand, is the 4K resolution of the television industry, defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It has twice the horizontal resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD (3840 x 2160/16: 9).
