Brief Summary
Maziar was born in Tehran and at the age of five his family sought refugee asylum in Canada. Ever since he was little, Maziar found inspiration in art and its potential to bring communities together. As a global thinker, Maziar spent his teen years dreaming of places to go, and when he found the airport on a map he was on the next flight to the wide and diverse cultural pool of Brazil. After 3 years of teaching English in various Brazilian cities, Maziar returned to Vancouver to study Communications & Graphic Design at Simon Fraser University.

He is currently the Social Media Coordinator & Content Contributor for TckTckTck, an alliance of more than 270 NGOs campaigning for Global Climate Action. And if that wasn’t enough the 28-year-old also writes for his own weekly arts column, which can be found in the English section of Shahrvand BC, the largest Iranian newspaper in Western Canada.
