After graduating from Falmouth College of Arts in 2003, my first years in London were spent assisting some of the best photographers in the world, including: Nick Knight, Tim Walker, Julia Fullerton-Batten and many more spread across various genres. It was exposure to the different worlds of Advertising, Fashion and Art photography, that have blended together to create a style that is considered yet free from convention.
I became interested in Photography when I was given an old camera aged 13. It was a simple point and shoot, and for years I dreamt about getting a camera that had changeable lenses and a mirrored viewfinder. I still remember the feeling of joy when I bought my first proper camera - a Canon A1, with all of my college grant.
Technology has opened doors to creative possibilities we would never have dreamt then, and is to be embraced when it can help to tell the story. But the unbridled joy felt when that first analogue camera was brought has never changed. The desire to tell a story remains and is the drive behind my images, wether shooting for a brand, or shooting for a magazine article, it is about capturing something that is both descriptive and beautiful.
