Brief Summary
Barry Gnyp was born & raised in the Saskatchewan prairies & wasn’t exposed to much of the artistic world but did enjoy taking lots of pictures through his youth.

In the winter of 1986 a friend showed him a brochure from the Alberta College of Art, particularly the photography course. He knew right then & there what he wanted to do with his life, applied in the spring & has never looked back. ACA opened his eyes to the world of possibilities.

Barry’s edgy, energetic, fun, fresh, yet timeless award winning imagery has been used for fashion, education, lifestyle, underwater, fine art, editorial, advertising & commercial applications. His commercial work along with his personal projects that range from the conventional to the abstract are infused with expression of life and art.
