Brief Summary

I am a fashion knitwear designer interested in a high design menswear role. I bring to my work a love of knitwear from a young age, inspiration from the wider arts, my own creative ideas, accomplished hand knit & machine technical skills and a year of commercial experience. This has culminated in my final year collection, ‘Shadow of a Doubt’.

My four years of study has allowed me to explore a variety of techniques, enabling me to develop my hand writing as a designer. It has given me the chance to learn the technical skills required to realise my design visions. In additional I’ve also gained experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign when creating portfolio pages and to present live projects.

During my year in industry I got real experience of fashion from high street ‘fast fashion’ at Marks & Spencers and New Look to working at a knitwear design studio; Sophie Steller. During this placement I produced garments for trade shows and exhibition spaces in New York and Shanghai as well as working on briefed projected for clients such as Gap and American Eagle. This was an extremely motivating period and I still create pieces as a freelancer.
I was an active member of my course as a Course Representative, organising of fashion shows in years 1 and 2, and more recently the Graduate Fashion Show and Look Book Shoot. All these have good challenges involving time management and team work.
