Brief Summary
Carol Joy Shannon is a full time artist, working in the warehouse district in Raleigh.  Her work has appeared in numerous venues regionally and has developed a wide following in the eastern US, Europe and South America.

Carol Joy's work is a result of thousands of hours of honing her skills and developing a signature style that infuses her paintings with the colorful memories of decades of travel and adventure.  Her cityscapes exhibit the "feel" and essence of these places, more than representational images, but some commissioned  works are more readily identifiable.  Her imaginative geometric creations speak to a need for color and structure, but their complexity and whimsy allow the viewer to continue to see the images anew.
