Mattias Adolfsson story this far.



Mattias Adolfsson took a Masters of Fine arts at HDK ( School of Design and Crafts, Gothenburg University) in 1996 and has since been a professional Illustrator/3d Animator/Game designer.  While studying he spent his summers making money by drawing houses in the Swedish west coast, he had a small exhibition in 1993.
Directly after graduation I worked at the Swedish broadcasting company and at the same time worked for a game company. His thesis work at HDK, a story about three polish Cosmonauts and their travel to Mars, was later turned into a computer game called Kosmopolska (BMG 1998). Mattias stayed at the game company for two years making four titles.



After leaving the game industry he worked as a self employed for 5 years making animations for music videos, commercials and films/illustrations for the industry. During these years he almost gave up drawing as the new media (3d animation/illustration) took up all his time. Since 2003 he yet again started working with games, he has been hired by the largest Computer game companies in Sweden. In 2006 while being between jobs he yet again started his drawing again and started blogging, he's been blogging/drawing almost for every day since then. Together with his Wife (Cecilia Levy artist/designer/bookbinder) he had an exhibition in Gothenburg at Kaustik gallery, his work has been seen in Australia, Germany and the USA.


He quit the game industry last year 2007 has since then been doing freelance work, some in Sweden (children's book, for magazines and for museums) and abroad. His sketchbooks has been around the world being exhibited in Australia, London and Tokyo making them more of a globetrotters then Mattias himself.



Mattias Adolfsson lives in Sigtuna (one of Swedens oldest cities, just outside of Stockholm) with his wife, two children and a dog.
