In her first life, Violet Lemay worked as a scenic designer and costumier for theatrical productions in New York. Her true desire was to become an illustrator, however, so she traveled South to earn her MFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (class of '96). She loves her new life as an illustrator, spending her days concepting, sketching and painting, taking breaks to play with her baby Gray.
