I worked as 2nd unit director on A GREEN AGONY, a film on the impact of climate change in Sundarbans delta, India, for the British Council. The film was nominated at the Wildscreen awards, aka the Green Oscars, in 2006. I also worked as 1st AD to director Gregg Helvey, in the Indie short KAVI, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 in the Live-Action Short category.
I write regularly for Indian films and TV, especially for kids and youth programs. I have directed over a 100 songs and episodes for Indian television. I also co-directed a short films, GOOD NEWS, which won the Audience Appreciation award at the Digital Film Festival 2004, in New Delhi.
I have often dabbled in Puppetry & Photography - but keep them within my hobby space, strictly. When I am not writing screenplay and dialogues for Hindi movies, I am looking for ways to keep my indie-filmmaker bug alive n' biting.· KAVI (19 min, fiction) – Nomination, Best Short Film (Live Action) Category, Academy Award 2010 [Role: 1st Assistant Director]
