Sameer Kulavoor (b.1983) grew up in the everchanging landscape of the chaotic cosmopolitan called Bombay. Magazine picture cutouts, flipbooks, sketchpens and postage stamps, surrounded his world. A keen interest in visual art and an obsession for drawing and creating images made him take it up professionally before he acquired formal education in the field at Sir. J. J. Institute of Applied Arts. In tune with his passion, he focussed on illustration, design, animation & broadcast design, often experimenting with content, methods and mediums
In mid 2009, he took a short sabbatical to travel and work on his limited edition booklet of personal sketches ‘Sidewalks & Coffeeshops’ and shortly set up his studio Bombay Duck Designs specializing in illustration design and image making for advertising, editorial, publications, motion graphics, animation and music projects.
