Rodolfo Páez Stahl was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, city where he completed his studies Mackay School. He studied Photography in USA at Brooks Institute School of Fine Art & Science, from 1981 through 1985,specializing in Photography of Table and Fashion and graduates as Associate Degree in Fine Art Photography. Since then, he has mostly performed as an independent advertising photographer, working in the most outstanding publicity agencies in Chile and abroad.

In the 80’s, he founded RPS Studio, in which presently he performs as successful Photographer in Chilean market, training many photographers as assistants. In 1987 he starts giving photography courses and seminars. In 2006 he founded Showcase, the only South American photography school offers courses in professional, 100% practical, intensive and personalized to students of all levels. He also teached in the Universidad Santo Tomás in Santiago de Chile.

In 1990 he was invited to join the Advertising Photographers Association of Chile (Fotop). In 1998 he was invited by the “Asociación Venezolana de la Fotografía", Avecofa, to be jury in the "Amateur
Photography Contest VII and VII Photo Contest Professional Photography VII National Convention” performed in Caracas, Venezuela, where, in addition, he delivered a conference on fashion.

Páez Stahl executes a work using digital photography, which is characterized for high contrasts and richness of details in dark zones, together with a clearance in clearness of the light.
He was one of the first photographers in Chile who decided to make the change to a digital stage, starting with hybrid techniques, then after giving rise to a completely digital stage. Today, he keeps developing new ways of visual art, through postproduction and video features.

Rodolfo Páez Stahl nació en en Viña del Mar, Chile, ciudad donde completó sus estudios en The Mackay School. Realizó sus estudios de Fotografía en Estados Unidos en el Brooks Institute School of  Fine Art & Science, desde 1981 a 1985, perfeccionándose en Fotografía de Productos y Fotografía de Moda. Se graduó como Asociatte Degree in Fine Art Photography.
Se ha desempeñado como Fotógrafo Publicitario Independiente además de docente universitario, trabajando prácticamente con todas las Agencias de Publicidad de Santiago de Chile y algunas extranjeras.

Durante la década de los 80 formó RPS Studio, donde hasta la fecha se desempeña como destacado fotógrafo publicitario en el mercado chileno. En 1987 comienza a impartir cursos y seminarios de fotografía.  

En 1988 es invitado a integrar parte de la Asociación Gremial de Fotógrafos Publicitarios de Chile, FOTOP.

En 1998 fue contactado por la Asociación Venezolana de la Fotografía, AVECOFA, para ser jurado en el VII Concurso de Fotografía  Amateur y VII Concurso de Fotografía Profesional de la VII Convención Nacional
de Fotografía, realizado en Caracas, Venezuela, lugar donde además dictó una Conferencia sobre “Fashion”.

Fue uno de los primeros fotógrafos en Chile que se decidió a hacer el cambio hacia la era digital, comenzando con las técnicas híbridas, para dar luego paso a una completamente digital.

Siempre a la vanguardia en el manejo de nuevas tecnologías de la imagen para internet, el año 2006 creó Showcase, la primera escuela de fotografía de Chile que imparte cursos intensivos de nivel profesional.

La fotografía de Páez Stahl se caracteriza por sus elevados contrastes y riqueza de detalles en las zonas de oscuridad, junto con una claridad en la limpieza de luz.
