About Me
Rick Peterson is a commercial photographer specializing in advertising-illustration, catalog and corporate photography. Rick’s career has spanned three decades of evolving photographic styles. He credits his own photography instructor/mentor for giving him inspiration and direction that lead to a lucrative career which has been rewarding, both artistically and experientially. Rick is known to his clients for his creative problem solving with technically sound results. He has won numerous Awards of Excellence and has developed long satisfying relationships with his clients.
“Advertising-Illustration photography is a collaboration” Peterson says. “I learn my client’s marketing objectives and develop a clear concept of the intended communication. I then formulate ideas for a visuals and produce images that align with the client’s market branding, utilizing artistic and emotional appeal.”
Rick’s work in advertising photography includes travel/resort & tourist destination photography, corporate photography for multi-faceted companies in the energy, research and health care business. Additionally, he works with advertising/catalog clients in the fashion accessory, cosmetic, sporting goods and pharmaceutical businesses. He is versatile in both the studio and on location, creating masterfully lit images that are evocative and compelling.
Rick is a past president of the Southern Arizona chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). During the years of film-to-digital transition, he offered direction to the chapter members through consulting, seminars and programs, creating workflow procedures that standardized delivery of the highest quality digital image files. Rick received recognition from his peers and from the ASMP National board for his contributions. He remains a current member of ASMP, serving on the board of directors.
