Born in 1986 in Cluj-Napoca and graduated from the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca with a degree in design, Mihai Manescu is an upcoming illustrator mainly focused on intricately carved poster artworks relevant to the music industry and cinematography as well.
His works are hand-crafted using a mixture of traditional inking techniques such as pointillism and cross-hatching, in a thorough and elaborate manner, with occasional digital manipulations. In his artworks, the artist tries to capture the very essence of beauty in the dark and the macabre. Music represents for the artist the primordial ocean that is the source of all the elements and concepts used in the artistic process. The twisted representations of the world around us are mixed with occult and often mystic elements to convey the desired message or set a specific tone.
