Education: University of Oregon Bachelor of architecture
My back ground is in architecture. I also have work in photography, design, and creative self projects that involve both.
I was born in Vietnam. I've lived on a small island near Malaysia when I was ten. That's where I learn to swim. Currently, I'm residing in Portland, Oregon which is an hour's drive from the Pacific Ocean. I've been to the Black Sea and Caribbean Ocean. Currently, I'm enrolled in a scuba dive class for certification. I guess you can say that water is important to me. I've always thought that travel and landscape is important and informs the work. But I think of Joseph Cornell who didn't leave his house much and still created some amazing works.
One of my earliest memories, or the one I choose to remember, is of me cutting color triangles from a piece of paper. I suppose I've been doing that ever since. I like to think that the shapes have evolved but I still think that the first intuition of shapes and color is still the most powerful. Every once in a while, I do manage to stumble upon those early inclinations.
