Bram Timmer is an award-winning art director, designer, photographer, and entrepreneur specializing in innovative new media design. Bram applies his creativity and expertise across a variety of media, including: web design and development; e-learning and interactive media; print materials; packaging; information architecture; illustration; video and photography. Bram's past and present clients include commercial, entertainment, lifestyle, financial and government institutions of all sizes.
In addition to his freelance design career under the alias Beside, directing and photography under the alias Aside, Bram was on-site at FITC Events to provide creative and art direction, assisting in the production of all print and web assets of a large number of events including ones in Amsterdam, Toronto, Seoul, Hollywood, Chicago, and New York City; the Banff World Media Festival, a celebrity-packed and who’s who of the media industry event, where Bram was Photography Manager, documenting the four-day event and managing his assistant photographers; Bram has founded and operated Dutch Blue Media, co-founded two/signed and ModeMatch, provided in-house design and development services for: White Iron, an award-winning digital media agency in Calgary, AB; Webtek, where he worked as Interactive Director in Michigan; and Blatant Media, where he provided animation, print, interactive and other services to support their e-learning platform.
A wide variety of interests and passions inform Bram's creative work, including architecture, art history, digital culture, and visual arts in various mediums. Bram is a member of the Lethbridge College Multimedia Production Program advisory committee; a former Chief Editor to Digital Softbox Magazine; and a founding member of the online magazine Digital Abstracts. Bram also participates in a number of design and art-focused events, groups, blogs, exhibits, not-for-profit causes, workshops, and occasionally guest speaks at conferences, colleges and universities.
