Brief Summary
Artist Statement:

You know that movie where Curly and Mitch are having a conversation about that ONE THING!

✽ Excerpt from 'City Slickers' movie script ✽
Curly: Do you know what the secret of life is?

Curly: This. [holds up one finger]

Mitch: Your finger?

Curly: One thing. Just one thing.
You stick to that and the rest don't mean ****.

Mitch: But what is the "one thing?"

Curly: [smiles] That's what YOU have to find out.

I am very grateful that I did long ago and I'm still at it.

The Japanese call it *ikigai * 'something one lives for', 'a reason for being'.

Everyone, according to the Japanese, has an ikigai. The French call it raison d'être. Finding "IT" requires a deep and often lengthy search of self. Such a search is regarded as being very important, since it is believed that discovery of one's ikigai brings satisfaction and meaning to life.

painting = joy. A lovely life equation!
