Brief Summary
NYC based illustrator creating contemporary & retro illustrations for print and web advertising, magazines, newspapers, product packaging, retail graphics, and children's picture books. A graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC, Steven's career began in commercial animation before then becoming a full-time independent illustrator. During his career he's created thousands of illustrations for nearly 600 various clients, and counting...  Since 2000 Steven has illustrated 23 children's picture books, and is the author of 4 of his own titles: COCO THE CARROT, LITTLE TUMBO, HARRY HUNGRY! and his latest title, WILD CHILD -to be released in August 2015 by Abrams Books. In 2012 his beautifully illustrated picture book, BROTHERS AT BAT was named a NY Times Book Review Notable Picture Book. Also being released in 2015 (October) his next illustrated picture book, THE FANTASTIC FERRIS WHEEL -published by Christy Ottaviano Books. Steven just completed the illustrations for THE KID FROM DIAMOND STREET, which will be released in 2016 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Clients have included: The New Yorker, American Express, United Airlines, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, and McDonalds, to name just a few. Since 2000 Steven has illustrated 23 children's picture books, 4 as author & illustrator. In 2015 his next author/illustrator picture book WILD CHILD will be released by Abrams Books, as well as the illustrated picture book THE FANTASTIC FERRIS WHEEL, published by Christy Ottaviano Books. In 2010 he launched sasgolf.com, a gallery site devoted to the sale of his limited edition golf art prints, an expression of his lifelong interest in the game.
