Lance Jackson trained as a painter/designer at Washington University in St. Louis and Rhode School of Design. After over fifteen years in print journalism creating illustration and designing pages at the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner, he has broken out as as a free lance illustrator.
Lance is an adjunct professor at City College of San Francisco and the California College of the Arts. Lance also employs the nom de plume/pseudonym of Lance Väänänens.
He is a current member of SIGGRAPH and has held memberships in the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Society of Newspaper Design.
