I grew up in what used to be a small town in Northern Arizona (think Sedona / Grand Canyon) and spent much of my childhood devouring books and the great outdoors. I was lucky to have a creative family and be able to "play" with many different media from a young age - textiles, ceramics, woodworking, stained glass, silver casting, and so forth. I went to college initially for music, but ultimately graduated with a degree in film & media production with some photography thrown in for good measure. It wasn't until I went back to school for graphic design years later that I was really able to hone my skills in visual storytelling.
And let me tell you - I LOVE stories.
In particular, I enjoy vividly detailing one place, moment or character to become a springboard for the next 'scene'. Perhaps that - and a hearty love of comics - explains why I initially gravitated to storyboarding! Ultimately, I would like to incorporate more character design, concepting, and digital matte painting into my work.
