Brief Summary
In the current professional speak, my commissioned work has predominantly been editorial, celebrity portraiture, and fashion advertising, although I try not to divide photography by such labels.
I have photographed for Cole Haan, Sony, Jive and Zomba Records, for Narada Records and EMI; I have had my work in Mens's Vogue, Forbes, Robb Report; for Harris Publications, Conde Nast and Fairchild; for TimeWarner and Ariel Investments; etc.
I have photographed celebrities such as Rip Hamilton of the Detroit Pistons and R. Kelly, David Archuletta, Craig Chaquico of Jefferson Airplane and the Reverend Jesse Jackson.
In all my work, I pursue the beauty of the ephemeral in both the structure/ execution of the image, and in capturing the moment.
My photography, and my love for photography, are enveloped in my appreciation of the aesthetic of the beautiful image as expressed by classic photographers such as Irving Penn and Josef Sudek.
I have also always had great admiration for the imagination and exquisite delivery I see in contemporaries such as Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi.
Even in the modern cultural and professional environment of endless image saturation, I still find that this is the aesthetic that breathes meaning to the art of photography- not the proliferation of the mundane and the pedestrian expressed in a mundane and pedestrian manner
