I first studied Desktop Publishing and Art at my local community college in Baytown, TX. This were I learned using Apple computers with Photoshop and QuarkXpress.
I also took Photography, I wasn’t really good on taking the shots and developing the negatives, but I always take it to the next step in printing and matting them together. It was a little design effort on my part to help in my grades.
A few years roll by after receiving a couple of certificates in computers I was able to go to a design college in New York City, New School University. There, I took some courses in Desktop Publishing and Graphic Design while staying with my sister and working as a Barback/Bartender at Beacon Restaurant and Bar. Cosmos anyone?
I loved being in New York at that time, the cultural, the atmosphere, and the created vibes going through my veins, but I missed home though and my belongings.
After six months I moved back to Texas and I was happy to land a sweet job at my local newspaper, The Baytown Sun. As a graphic designer there, I created many advertisements, logos, and full front-page cover layouts. I learned the ins and outs of working for and printing a newspaper. Man, there were many long nights and work on holidays.
Growing up as a kid I always loved the concept of drawing, designing, and creating many types of art. Mostly my favorite type of drawing is Tattoo art. Many of my drawings tend to look good for a tattoo, mainly an abstract, black & white, or a tribal design.
I created this page for all art lovers, designers, free thinkers, creators, tattoo enthusiasts, and so on. I show my creations, share feedbacks, comments, and likes. Feel free to do the same. I’ll accept everyone’s art, pictures, and videos.
GORILLAmerica© was created to express one's ideals. My dream is to open a shop to have clothing and accessories with my own artwork onto them.
