Brief Summary
Ferdinand (1960) is the pseudonym of fashion trend forecaster Ferry Schoew. In 1982 -after 5 years of training to become a fashion illustrator at one of Holland’s best-known art academies in Utrecht- he won the first price of an International design contest, comparable to the grand prix of the Festival de Hyeres today.
The French forecasting agency Promostyl, invited him to move to Paris where he started his professional career as a menswear assistant. Four years later he was named creative director of this prestigious style institute. He continued to direct Promostyl’s team of some hundred stylists, graphic designers and illustrators until 1992 when he felt it was time to open his own design studio in Paris, named DHP.

Ever since, Ferry Schoew has collaborated with many well known international textile brands, and mostly every bureau de style in Paris, London and Amsterdam as a fashion forecaster or as an illustrator. Once fashion editors started to invite him to appear on the pages of their glossy magazines he decided to officialise his illustration activities by signing them with his Christian name Ferdinand.
