Graphic designer, educator and consultant from Rio de Janeiro. His work has been published, awarded and exhibited in Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Mexico, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam. A former director of ADG Brasil, the Brazilian Graphic Designers Association, he is a member of its Ethics Committee and has acted as President of the Jury and member of the Curatorial Commission of the 7th and 8th Brazilian Graphic Design Biennials. An author of three books, he is an editor for www.BrazilianGraphicDesign.com, holds columns in www.designbrasil.org.br and in the Chinese magazine NewGraphic, and often judges competitions such as the Adobe Design Achievement Awards and the Brazilian Design Biennial. He has taught Graphic Design at UniverCidade in Rio de Janeiro from 1996-2006, when he assumed a teaching position at the Raffles Design Institute in Shanghai, China, where he currently lives.
"To date, I've had 16 projects – corporate identities, promotional material, posters, book design, book covers, a cd packaging and a website design – selected in five consecutive Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial exhibitions in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008/2009. The Brazilian Chinese Hybrid Design Workshop received Honor Mention at Icograda World Design Congress in Beijing 2009. In 2007 I've received two awards at the III International Design Festival “Cow!!!!” in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, for the posters “O meu Brasil é com S” and “Memórias Tipográficas en Venezuela”, which also received Honor Mention at the 2nd Latin American Design and Graphic Arts Show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2006. In 2003 I was voted “Best Writer” by the readers of the Brazilian graphic design magazine Design Gráfico."
