I grew up in the beautiful countryside of Plymouth, Devon in the United Kingdom. In 1996 I moved to America following my passion for creating software in the early days of the web. After spending 12 years working on cutting edge new web services at Microsoft including the widely acclaimed Photosynth project from Microsoft Live Labs. I co-founded 8ninths in Sept 2008, a research and development laboratory and start-up incubator headquartered in Seattle, WA.
Primarily a self-taught photographer I utilize digital equipment, technologies and techniques including High Dynamic Range (HDR), Infrared, Lightroom and Photoshop. I enjoy experimentation, hearing peoples stories and focussing on moments of pause, emotion and humor in everyday life.
I was lucky enough to be surrounded by creative talent as a child. My grandfather an artist and storyteller, mother a dancer and musician, father an engineer and craftsman. Each of them expressed themselves through their found mediums for the pure joy of creating and connecting with others, I hope to continue this heritage in the realm of the digital.
